After allegations of racism were made against him in testimony before the U. Senate Judiciary Committee, which Sessions denied, the committee voted against advancing his nomination to the Senate floor; the nomination was later withdrawn.
Sessions was elected Attorney General of Alabama in Inhe was elected to the U.
Senate, and was re-elected inand During his Senate tenure, Sessions was considered one of the most conservative Senators. His Senate voting record includes votes against comprehensive immigration reformthe bank bailoutthe American Recovery and Reinvestment Act ofthe Affordable Care Act and criminal justice reform Sessions was an early supporter of Donald Trump's presidential campaign ; he was nominated by Trump for the post of U.
Attorney General. He was confirmed and sworn in as Attorney General in February In his confirmation hearings, Sessions stated under oath that he did not have contact with Russian officials during the presidential campaign and that he was unaware of any contact between Trump campaign members and Russian officials. However, in Marchnews reports revealed that Sessions had twice met with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak in Sessions later recused himself from any investigations into Russian interference in the United States elections.
Jeff Sessions’ hell on Earth
As Attorney General, Sessions rescinded a memo issued by one of his predecessors, Eric Holderthat had sought to curb mass incarceration by avoiding mandatory sentencing for drug crimes; he ordered federal prosecutors to begin seeking the maximum criminal charges possible.
A staunch opponent of illegal immigrationSessions adopted a hard line on sanctuary cities and told reporters that cities failing to comply with federal immigration policy would lose federal funding.
He also played a key role in the implementation of the Trump administration family separation policy. Trump issued an executive order revoking the cities' fundingbut that order was overturned by a federal court. Sessions also supported Department of Justice prosecutions of medical marijuana providers. On November 7,Sessions tendered his resignation at Trump's request following months of public and private conflict with President Trump over his recusal from investigations relating to Russian election interference.
Sessions ran in the Senate election in Alabama to reclaim his old seat, but lost in the Republican primary to Tommy Tubervillewho was supported by President Trump. Both of Sessions' parents were primarily of English descent, with some Scots-Irish ancestry. He was active in the Young Republicans and was student body president.
Sessions entered the private practice of law in Russellville and later in Mobile. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama beginning in InPresident Reagan nominated him to be the U. The Senate confirmed him and he held that position for 12 years.Jeff Sessions forced to resign from US attorney general post
Sessions's office filed civil rights charges in the killing of Michael Donalda young African American man who was murdered in Mobile, Alabamaby a pair of Ku Klux Klan members. The prosecution stirred charges of selective prosecution of black voter registration.
The defendants, known as the Marion Three, were acquitted of all charges by a jury after three hours of deliberation. Historian Wayne Flynt told The Washington Post he regarded concerns about tactics employed in the election and by Turner in particular as legitimate, but also noted Sessions had no history of advocating for black voter rights before At Sessions' confirmation hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee, four Department of Justice lawyers who had worked with Sessions testified that he made racially offensive remarks.
One of those lawyers, J.Former deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein, who now says he regrets his role in implementing the policy, was twice interviewed by investigators, but made misleading statements to them that understated and obscured his role. Many of its victims younger than the age of five, some even infants, were held alone at substandard facilities under inhumane conditions. The Biden administration has promised to reunite families.
If such a criminal investigation was undertaken, investigators would have powerful tools available to compel testimony of recalcitrant witnesses. That combination raised questions, the official said, as to whether there was a coordinated effort emanating from the highest levels of the justice department to sabotage the investigation.
Of all the other 45 individuals with whom the IG sought to speak to, all agreed; some sitting for several interviews, others doing so in adverse circumstances because of the Covid pandemic. Some investigators also concluded Rosenstein misled them by downplaying his own role in the family separation policy.
But records previously published by the Guardian and the New York Times directly contradict those claims — clearly demonstrating that Rosenstein ratcheted up the policy by pressing US attorneys on the US-Mexico border to detain more children. The records further indicate that several US attorneys and their aides had severe reservations regarding the inhumanity of the policy, and concerns that by diverting resources to carrying out the policy would interfere with the prosecution of far more serious crimes.
But other US attorneys who Rosenstein supervised told the IG that they were ordered to bring cases they did not want to. As a former attorney general, Sessions was evading questions from the very department he once headed. To do so, he relied on a loophole in the law that allowed former department officials to escape any consequences from cooperating with investigators once they were out of office.
Justice officials who refuse to cooperate with investigators, while in their job, are subject to and are almost always fired from their jobs — a firing carried out by the attorney general. Thus Sessions, by regulation and longstanding norms, was tasked with firing officials for the very thing he himself did. Facebook Twitter Pinterest.

Jeff Sessions impeded inquiry into role in Trump’s family separation policy
Sessions didn't name the chapter that had just closed but, if he had, it would have been titled: "The Trump Years. Let's leaf through it. In midSessions was just settling in to his fourth term representing Alabama in the Senate, having been unopposed by any Democrat in his reelection race. In his late 60s at the time, Sessions could comfortably expect to hold his seat for as long as he chose -- given his popularity in the Alabama and the state's overwhelming Republican bent.
But, Sessions, who had been nominated to be a federal judge by Ronald Reagan in only to see the Senate block his nomination due to allegations of racismwanted more.
He longed to be attorney general of the United States. He had been attorney general in Alabama prior to winning his Senate seat in The problem? Sessions, who has one of the most conservative voting records in the Senate and had emerged as the loudest voice in the chamber on the threats posed to the country by illegal immigration, was not someone all that well regarded by the establishment of the party.

Maybe one day Jeff Sessions will answer to God for what he did, but inhe had to answer to the Christian Broadcast Network. What we intended to do, was to make sure that adults who bring children into the country are charged with the crime they have committed. It takes some gall to go on a Christian television network to bear false witness, because as it turns out, what Sessions said was a lie.
The report concluded that Sessions and other top Justice Department officials knew their policies would result in children being separated from their parents. Some of those children, the report said, were infants, still young enough that they were nursing.
More than 5, children were separated from their parents, documents filed in federal court have shown, and more recent court filings revealed that of those separations could wind up being permanent.
About 60 of those children are under the age of 5. Or to put it another way, imagine you took a school — one about the size of the elementary school in my hometown — and made all the students orphans. Sessions did that.
In the wake of public outrage over the family separations policy, Sessions quoted scripture in his defense. Sessions is a Methodist, so he might not care, but none other than Pope Francis himself has now said the family separations policy was an affront to God.
For stranded children, they might have to live with that cruelty for the rest of their lives. They and their missing parents are stuck in a hell on Earth. Sessions has argued he was just enforcing the lawbut this man grew up in the Jim Crow South. He, of anyone in the Trump Administration, should have understood the hazards of enforcing a law that is not just.

I'm HOPING a new race will be added, as we haven't had one in quite some time. I think that they will reveal something that most people aren't expecting, like the backside of azeroth or another island with old god issues (like pandaria) or a 5th old god and i think that they will reveal one of those. I believe we will finally see a Kul Tiras related expansion since all the data discovered points to that.
Also, I hope for some Old Gods, Jaina's return, Zandalari maybe. Ive been dreaming of this for over 4 years now: Panda Druids. Blizzard please just let me give you that race change money and let me be a bear bear. I hope Jaina or Azshara get some love for the next xpac.

In our Declaration of Independence, the founders claim the right to form our own government because it became "necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands" that tie them to another. Eagar Fire Chief Howard Carlson is interviewed by reporter Trisha Hendricks of Channel 12 News in Phoenix at the Arizona Wildfire Forum April 18.
EAGAR State Forester Scott Hunt co-hosted the Arizona Wildfire Forum on April 18 in Eagar along with the Arizona State Forestry Division, the Arizona Insurance Council and the Arizona Forest Health Council. Billed as lessons learned in 2011 and community protection going forward, the forum was attended by officials and representatives from the above organizations as well as local and county officials from Apache, Navajo, Greenlee, and Graham counties and those from Payson, Prescott, Tucson, Ponderosa near Flagstaff, and agents with Farmers Insurance.
Hunt started the forum with information about the 2011 fire season and stated that Arizona is considered a wildfire state. Over 9,000 structures were threatened last year with 111 destroyed.
There were 19 red flag days last year, which is wind speeds of 20 to 25 miles per hour with gusts up to 60 miles per hour, low relative humidity and high fuel loads. Hunt went on to give those present the current predictions for the 2012 fire season, which has already started.
The National Fire potential map shows the states most at risk with Arizona (the only state in the country that is mostly covered in red) are western New Mexico, Utah and Colorado, a large portion of Florida and up the east coast to North Carolina, as well as parts of California and Nevada.
More firefighters than civilians die in forest fires. The average number since 1990 to 2010 is about 10 civilians per year compared to 20 firefighters. The largest loss of firefighters in the last 20 years was about 36 in 1994. Hunt reported that the funds for the 2012-2013 fiscal year for fuel reduction treatments has been cut by about 20 percent. This strategy intended to give those local companies the opportunity to learn from their foreign partners and help to the technology to develop their own brands and models.
The best examples of such troubled state-owned automakers are FAW, Chery and SAIC with its Maxus, MG and Roewe brands.
Lastly, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation has got Joint Ventures with the two largest manufacturers in China: Volkswagen and General Motors, but sales of its own brands Roewe, MG and Maxus were less than 300.
These brands will continue to gain market share at home, at the cost of their competitors who can sit back and rake in the profits by producing cars for their overseas partners.
What are your predictions for 2017. Which brand or model do you expect to surprise or disappoint this year. Let me know in the comments below. His daily driver is an Alfa Romeo GT 3.
You can find all his articles Here. In a few year China will be able to end the mandate for foreign automakers to form Joint Ventures with local manufacturers if they want to produce cars in China and avoid the high import duties. If they do this I easily predict the foreign automakers will absorb their local partners who are completely dependent on sales of foreign models.
More perhaps a consolidation in SOE brands is due.
